The long hall unifies the four stone house forms. The configuration was
inspired by the covered boardwalks that linked the storefronts shops of
pioneer western settlements. The long hall is the private circulation for
the family. It is terminated on each end by a screened porch. The exposed
air conditioning ducts reinforce the clear structural expression of the
steel lintels and the exposed joists in the kitchen and dining room.
